Meet Harley
Kaihautū | Director | Based in Wellington

Harley Thompson from Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Maniapoto is the founder of Kaharawa Limited and the creator of the KAHA model.  He has 35 years plus experience in the social service sector, is a registered social worker with an Adult Diploma in Education, Bachelor of Social work and Masters in Māori and Indigenous leadership from the University of Canterbury.

His life learnings have culminated in developing transformational change programmes for whānau, community and professionals.

Laurie Porima BA/BCA, PG Dip SocSci. from Ngāti Manawa, Ngāti Hikairo, Ngai Tuhoe, Ngāpuhi is an independent Māori evaluation and research specialist working in a range of economic, educational, policy and social service sectors.

He is part of a consortium of evaluators for a number of government agencies in New Zealand. He is also an IOD trained Director providing governance, management, outcomes and strategic planning training and advice to Iwi, Māori health services, Social Services, Kōhanga Reo and Kura Kaupapa Māori.

 

Meet Tereihine
Lead Facilitator | Administrator | Based in Levin

Tereihine Roberts-Thompson is the administrator and lead facilitator alongside her father, Harley Thompson.

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology and Māori Studies (Victoria University of Wellington) and aspires to nurture the well-being of whānau through pūrākau and storytelling.

 

Meet Tina-May
Facilitator | Based in Wellington

Tina-May Wilkins-Nikora from Ngāti Konohi, Te Whānau-a-Iritekura is a Senior Engagement Advisor for the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in care.

Her professional background is in social work for the last 18 years in government, tertiary education and the NGO sectors. She looks forward to sharing knowledge to enhance your own journey.

 

Meet Te Hamua
Facilitator | Based in Wellington

Shane Te Hamua Wilkins-Nikora nō ngā hapū maha o Te Tairawhiti is a Tikanga Māori Advisor and Strategist, a man with “the gift of the gab”. Te Hāmua, also known as “THC- The HAATI Coastie”, uses an approach he calls “Te Hāmua Communications” to get his unique style of messaging over to the many different and varied audiences he works with.

Te Hāmua has an undeniable love for his people of Ngāti Porou, Rongowhakaata, Ngai Tāmanuhiri, Te Aitanga-a-Mahaki and all the other iwi and hapū that make up the region.

Te Hāmua gained a love of storytelling as a young person and realised early in life the ability of the shared word to act as both communication device and means of escape in to endless other worlds.

 

Meet Puawai
Facilitator | Based in Palmerston North

Puawai Taiapa-Aporo from Ngāti Porou, Ngā moutere o te kuki airani is a facilitator of the KAHA Atua series with experience in teaching Te Reo Māori, facilitating rangatahi workshops, tv presenting, music, performing arts and NCEA unit standards.

She has a Bachelor of Maori visual Arts and Maori studies (Massey University Palmerston North) and inspires to use her qualifications to nurture the development of taiohi and community.

 

Meet Jessica-Maraea
Facilitator | Based in Wellington

Jessica-Maraea Mako-Andersen from Ngāti Whitikaupeka o Mokai Patea Nui Tonu is a facilitator of the KAHA Atua series. Her background is in Kohanga reo teaching, she is currently working for a youth development agency as a programmes facilitator and youth worker. She described herself as a ‘nurturer’, she aspires to support the growth and development of her community.

She is a product of Kohanga Reo, Kura Māori and Wharekura, she holds a Heke Mātauranga Māori from Te Wānanga o Raukawa and is currently studying a postgraduate diploma in Māori and Indigenous Leadership.


 

Meet JP
IT Consultant | Content Creator | Based in Kāpiti

Jonathan (JP) Pierce spent over a decade in specialist technical fields in government agencies, before moving to the non-profit sector where he has been able to strengthen and add value to all areas of several organisations dedicated to helping the community.

With a passion for helping local businesses tell their story through digital content, and a background in technology infrastructure management, JP is often the man behind the camera and helps keep things running in the background.
